Ultimate? I know they cant make a LEGO set of the "showdown" they did have (hmph, hmph, would not be decent) but this is nowhere in the story.
- secondly that robot is pure imagination too.
- if it was THAT showdown, the suit didn't arrive till later. He had his hobby made things-gadgets on.

As we talked about during a simlar talk about THE HOBBIT sets the sets are designed in an early stage of the movie. But either the script wasn't done at all OR Marvel didn't give any bones away, LEGO has guessed or worked in blindness. Either way - I hope LEGO gets dicount on this licencedeal. I find them very well designed and I love building and playing with them together with my 4-year old son.

Now I wonder if this will be a one off range of sets (like monster hunters, Dino's,...) or a more lasting theme with new releases in 2014 and beyond. Past Lego space themes have been more one offs (alien conquest), so I fear for galaxy squad. Will it depend on the success of the theme whether TLG decides to build on it or would they have decided by now to stop at one series (could be the decision is already made, I can imagine it takes a year or more to design a whole range, so they would have to decide well in advance to go for more than one series).

Yesterday I opened a Sea Captain and a "Biker?". Whoever designed the captain gave him a captain's hat and a seagull and then said, "You know what, I think he needs more accessories!" so they gave him some binoculars too! The best they could give the biker was a bandanna and a wrench, the accessory you give to a CMF so you can say you gave him an accessory (for example: crash test dummy). The skydiver has a helmet and a parachute (which I'd call more of a backpack) while Medusa has an intricate headpiece and body design. The Aztec in series 7 also has an intricate headpiece, plus a shield and a spear. The swimmer has(wah wah wah) a medal. I would think that it costs more to make Medusa than the clown or the baseball player in series 10, so why don't all of the CMFs have more of a "balance" (for want of a better word) in design and accessories? Are the CMFs actually broken down in rares, commons and uncommons, the rarer the figure the more intricate it's design? Or do the designers just come up with whatever they can imagine and Lego gives it the green light as long as it can be produced under a certain cost?

There has been a large uproar over Mr. Gold. I myself was disappointed to here about this chase figure in series 10 because I feel that I will now never be able to truly collect all of the different series as I have been trying to do. I missed series one when it all started and I just recently bought the whole set at once. I have put it into my head to collect all of the Harry Potter minifigs. The challenge of this for me is that I just started collecting Lego Harry with this last release of sets and I know that a lot of these figures are pricey these days, but I figured that it still could be possible to collect all of them as opposed to, say, trying to collect all of the Star Wars universe. What is the point of these ramblings? I was wondering how many collectors out there have complete sets of figures and from what line or lines you collected and why. I just thought it might be an interesting topic.

With the recent release of the 4184 Black Pearl set, and @sidersdd still dripping photos from this discussion: http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/1792/black-pearl-4184-minifigs#Item_3. What is/are your G.O.A.T. minifig choices?

I know there are those who love the classics, and others who lean toward the modern. There is the whole yellow vs. flesh debate as well. But ignoring those points, of all the figs TLG has ever produced, which would be up at the top of the list?

It is very hard for me to decide. I lean toward the more modern figures because of the creativity and diversity and detail that is put into them. The more classic figures look a little too simplistic for the most part. I must say, though that the Davy Jones is right near the top. He has a completely new and unique beard/octupus, and crab claw hand, plus a peg leg in a new color and a hat that is a different color but same mold as Blackbeard.

Here are some qualities that will automatically propel a fig toward the top of the list:
Detail - things like leg printing, arm printing, creative designs/colors, etc.
Uniqueness - Unique molds/parts only used in that figure.
Versatility - can parts of the figure be used in other figures well, can other figures' accessories be used with this figure and look good?
Backstory - is there a great story with the figure. This is of course more subjective, but licensed figures have a big boost here, they are usually associated with movies/characters we already know.

So I would say my top ten in no particular order are:
1. Cloud city Boba Fett. Printed arms and legs, which wasn't being done near as much in 2003 as today, unique jetpack/helmet, incredible backstory, extremely unique. It isn't very versatile, but sure makes up for it.
2. Imperial Royal guard. All red, with a cape, and that awesome helmet that is only for those figs. They are actually quite versatile, too. The way they used the black head and space in the helmet to emulate the black visor is awesome.
3. Davy Jones. See above
4. Crab from City of Atlantis
5. Mola Ram. Awesome Indy fig. Very unique.
6. Gold Knight. My favorite helm design, but this guy wins it because of full armor and it is the only one in gold. Awesome.
7. Vladek. Personally, I loved the knights kingdom series, and wish I had more, despite the rainbow of colors for the knights. Vladek always was the favorite.
8. CMF 3 Space Villian. All around awesome figure. The mechanical arm, new helmet, face design, etc. The only one who can nudge classic blacktron aside. Although the AC aliens are growing on me. If he hadn't come out, classic blacktron would be in his place.
9. I absoultely love love love all the Ninjago figures. I can't get enough of them. The skeletons are my favorite, and although it is tough, I would have to go with Wyplash, mostly because of his removable hat.
10. Redbeard. Captain of the Black Seas Barracuda, how could he not be on the list. He introduced us to the hook and peg leg. Win.

Man, do you know how hard it is to narrow this down to ten?? I could do a top twenty, easy. At first I was going to rank them, but couldn't decide, so no particular order. I would love to hear what others have to say about it.

To preempt the exclusion of such figures as the Spartan, Zombie, classic space, etc. I am not saying I don't love those, just if I had to grab only ten figures on my way out of my burning house, I would grab these...if I could find them. ;-) You know what I am talking about.

I always do at least one "major" project at the house each year during vacation/holiday time. These projects are like lego sets on steroids, and can be more expensive, dangerous, and frustrating. The project for this year is building an additional room in the attic for my boxes of legos, and was originally proposed by my wife with the alternative being divorce (take note, @LegoFanTexas). It will (hopefully) simultaneously clean out our room and my closet while taking this hobby out of the line-of-sight of my better half.

Presently, I have only planned a square room that is 10'x10' (3m x 3m). Since it is in the attic and we live in a warmer climate, it will require extensive insulation. I am actually planning to install a window A/C unit for climate control in the summer (winter isn't an issue). I purchased and installed a 20amp breaker to handle the lighting, A/C, and other misc. loads. We have WIFI, so internet isn't an issue.

My question is: If you could build a room from scrap based on the information given above, what would you include? I may end up incorporating some of the suggestions (based on cash flow). I also plan to post a picture of my new hideaway to this site once it is completed (including the boxes stacked to the ceiling, of course).

I'd've thought seeing this was a limited set (68 only I've read) without any custom pieces (I've read) there would be a high demand for people to cobble a set together from Bricklink.

Does anyone know where to find some instructions? I presume since I can't find any with a reasonable Googlé search that a) Lego is cracking down on any sites that supply instructions to this set, and/or b) owners don't want to give them out because it's so rare.

I just think it's an interesting and awesome set to be able to display. I personally think Lego should do their Battle Packs along the same lines as Gallob did with their Star Wars Micro Machines Action Fleet line. I loved the Action Fleet line and I would gladly buy Lego Star Wars Battle Packs if they were done in a similar fashion. One thing that is lacking from the current Battle Packs is a quality vehicle and or creature. Wouldn't the hair be sculpted by the designers with more detail than plain smooth? Having seen the Mega Factories Lego episode, and the way the Police dog was designed and made, I would expect the designers to not have created a half-baked design as moulds are so expensive.

2. Wouldn't the early boxes picture the smooth Leia? If there were throwing in smooth haired Leias, how could a textured hair piece appear on the minifig box? (I haven't seen a box but it appears obvious that the early boxes show the correct part or everyone would be using the boxes to tell if they had the blob-head Leia).

3. This should be able to easily make those light bley levers for UCS Falcon, if you wanted them, or the light bley boat rigging (if you were willing to modify the design to use several parts rather than 1)

Hey all, I didn't see this mentioned anywhere yet so I thought I'd take a stab at it. I apologize if I missed a prior post on the topic.

In the mail today I received MBA kit 7, "The Lost Village". In the shipping box they included a really nice, large poster with details on the next MBA level of kits, even though Level 3 just released.

"Level 4 Launches November 2012"

Kit 10: Time Machine
Kit 11: World Architecture
Kit 12: Inventor's Lab

The level 4 minifig has a top hat, lol. I love it. Very, very impressed with this entire line so far.

Around two years ago I purchased from my local Toys-R-Us set #7179-1 Duncan Bulk And Vapour. Just today as I was digging through my closet I found the box to said set. On the front it reads Duncan Bulk and Vapour and on the side of the box where it should say Vapour it reads Vapor. Was this a common error or is this something somewhat unique?

I suppose the first question should really be "Do you display minifigs?", and if so "How?". I'm talking about minifig only display here, i.e. not with sets. I will post some (inevitably poor) pictures of how I do it later on tonight when I'm back at home, but in the meantime, maybe you can get a head start and discuss how you do it (pictures would be great please!)
