Good to see it wasn't only an April Fools after all!
I'm your average 30 something AFOL from the west coast of the USA. I fell out of LEGO completely around 16 and didn't get back into them until fairly recently. The only break in my extended dark age was in 1999 when Star Wars hit the scene but most of the 90's and 2000's were LEGO free. Sadly most of my childhood sets didn't survive me Mums repeated purging of the toy closet (i'm sure she meant well) after I had moved out but a few classic space ones managed to hide. Brick on!
