It seems to be available now at S@H: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/LEGO-Kingdoms-Chess-Set-853373

For me its going to be either Lego or I walk in to stores. Way to many scams out there and they are getting harder and harder to find. Had 2 friends scammed on on eBay and one on amazon just this week. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary just 10-20% …

besides what have been said (like the WW Van, fantastic build in my view) why not taking the whole family to Legoland? may be it is far from where you live, but plan it for the future? it is a nice birthday present?! That's a great idea. We were p…

Thanks, @Si_Dorking_Surrey_UK, @CCC, @Brewer51, @AFFOL_Shellz_Bellz and @andyscouse! Those are great suggestions. The unimog is one of my favorite Technic models. A very fun and varied build. It seems to get less love than 8043 and 8258, which I…

@legoDad. Thanks for the suggestion. I've considered it, and have on occasion bid halfheartedly on custom kits on ebay. But given the price per brick on many of them (which I realize reflects time put in on essentially one-offs), I've always thou…

"For a guy who has everything he wants," here's a suggestion......don't buy because you have everything you want. Not a very helpful suggestion, I'm afraid. It's not like I am wallowing in my materialistic gluttony. I just want to get me a birthda…

I really like MMV. Even my wife likes it! My concern about Joust is that it might sacrifice small detail in order to achieve a grand scale: e.g. whole wall elements rather than brick-built walls, etc. The Kingdoms Joust isn't like the other L…

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I'll take a close look at the cars, especially the VW Van and the Racers. I really like MMV. Even my wife likes it! My concern about Joust is that it might sacrifice small detail in order to achieve a grand …

@260madison. It's quite possible you got caught in a scam that has snared many people here, including me. There's a link devoted to the general topic: http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/2607/ebay-fraud-announcement-from-lego#Item_326. You'll…

Actually, I kind of like stickers, since it means fewer custom pieces. Perhaps truer to the spirit of a general building toy. It gives me the option to customize bricks, or not. And, I will be getting this as soon as it is available. It looks be…

Is he certain that the letter came from LEGO or other reputable source?

@FollowsClosely has made a number of modifications to GG, including widening it. I'm, personally, a big fan of his MOCs and MODs, which I've seen pictures of in the Eurobricks forums.

^ No sir. (@Yellowcastle caveat - I don't think so). ;o) That's a relief! ;-)

Seems rather juniorized to me... Is this train in the same product line as the Haunted House that I believe is coming out?
-
Some previous dscussion here - http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/3960/is-this-the-first-chinese-made-brick Thanks for the link. Would it be right to infer that 2362b is made from a polycarbonate while 2362a is not? And further that 2362b add…

^Thanks, DaveE. That seems like a pretty authoritative answer.

^While it's certainly true that it comes down to individual preferences, putting the PF into EN means a) you no longer have a nice coal furnace in the cab, b) the driver cannot stand in the cab and c) you can't fill the tender with black coal-like b…
-
^Perhaps @Legos meant that adding PF to the EN is not wholly satisfactory: The motor takes up most of the cab and the battery box fills the tender. I don't have the Maersk train. But is it possibly the case that the motor and battery box integrat…

ok... I received my order and yes the panels had the supports. I stand corrected. I was hoping it would be different for you. But the same thing happened to me. I went to the inventory for CC on bricklink; found the panels; checked to see what oth…

^That's not quite true. The windows in the rear (when doubled up) are held in place only at the bottom (two studs). On top of these windows rest 2x1 (blue) tiles, which are not anchored to anything but the window itself. If you wanted to you coul…

You could also try parts 2362a, which as far as I can tell are the same as 2362b but with solid studs not hollow ones. They are a lot cheaper. It's hard to find 20 of them from one shop, so you need to be patient and collect them as they appear. …

Just to follow up on my last post. It seems to me that sets have gotten larger on average over time. Sets with more than 1000 pieces were relatively uncommon in the last century. Now they are quite common. As sets get larger, alignment issues be…

I tried putting my Kings Castle on a 48x48 grey baseplate to make it easier to move and the large plate to baseplate fit was almost impossible to do. Not sure if this because of slight differences in the mold or just trying to put something thats al…

Thanks, @luckyruss. I remember now looking for a spare black 1x6 plate in my existing inventory.

Final revision of the Cafe Corner 2nd floor. I just finished building it and realized the instruction is missing page 32 which contains the following elements: 1. Plate 2x4 Reddish Brown (3020), qty 2 (total 9) 2. Plate 2x6 Reddish Brown (3795),…

Can I ask a question here? There are two tables on the sidewalk. What piece should be the seats? I purchased one and it came with yellow chairs AND the yellow round plates. A few of the ones I see on ebay have the yellow chairs, but the instruct…

Thanks for updating your, very helpful, inventory. Did a quick look up on bricklink and the additional cost of the items is minimal (no more than $2 US). Mods: Could the database maintain this kind of miscellaneous information?
-
^Thanks for the corrections.

Or you could just buy actual 2x1x3 windows, which is what the designer wanted to put in the set to begin with, only they were not made back then. now they are cheap and abundant. Thanks for the suggestion. I've placed an order for 20, which I'l…

I uploaded @htran 's inventory to bricklink and was able to buy all the needed pieces (expect one) for a bit less than $90 including shipping. I had to use three sellers to do it. The one piece I did not order was 2362b (20x), which alone costs mo…

Great to see another New Yorker on the forum. Are you aware of the New York LUG? @bmwlego introduced it to me. But, having two young children, I've not really had the time to attend a meeting.
-
@murphquake. Sorry I can't help you. I used to be a night owl too. But with two small kids, those days are long gone... Don't know much about series 4 minifigs. Prices are not too bad on bricklink. Have you checked.
-
Could it be because it does not seem to have been minifig scale?
-
@htran. Thank you so much! This is very helpful. I tried to do as @johboy2000 suggested. But I'm not familiar enough with LDD to do it efficiently. So these lists will definitely be helpful.

It's too late now for the Emerald Night, but all I would have wanted is to be able to buy separate passenger cars to connect up. They could be exactly the same as the included passenger car. The costs to do single cars as opposed to a whole sets w…

Lego has sold add-on cars in the past, my understanding from reading here is that they never did sell all that well. Didn't they try this in the early 2000s? Perhaps it would make more business sense these days given S@H. They could charge more pe…

When I get home (and the kids have been put to bed, and the dishes are done, and the... - hmmm, maybe I shouldn't go home...), I'll try to extract the inventory and will share with those interested.

Here's the eurobricks link with LDD file: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41226&st=0&p=730018&#entry730018 It's post #8 Thanks @jonboy2000 !

I can't remember the link at Eurobricks but you can upload a ready built model of the CC into lego LDD. Do this then delete the top and bottom floor. Upload the remaining middle level into wanted bricks and voila! you can even import the list into…

I guess I'll try to put together an inventory then! I'll let you know when (if) it's finished. Happy to share @jtkauff and @parkerwilson

@murphquake: you've got me beat big time! @legoDad: that stretch of midtown is like one huge toy store, particularly around Christmas!
-
I have not seen this mentioned anywhere, but Toys n Bricks is reporting that there'll be free shipping on S@H USA and Canada for March 12 to March 31 (http://toysnbricks.com/usca-lego-shop-at-home-promotions-for-march-2012/). There is some overlap …

I just need one and I'm 8 blocks from it...;) Word! I'll see your 8 and raise (or lower) you 6 blocks. Straight down 6th Avenue. But the downside is the Rockefeller store marks up everything by 10%.

Forgot to mention MOCing!
